The spirit award is given to an individual, donor, or group who has demonstrated outstanding support of the American Red Cross – expanding the Red Cross mission and vision to the community.

Kristen R. Dreher has been volunteering with the Red Cross for the past three years. She has served on fundraising committees and a lead role in the 2016 Heroes Dinner for Central and Northern Missouri. 

When receiving her award, the following was stated: "Her dedication to the Red Cross mission really inspires others to put their best work forward. Her passion really took this year's Heroes Dinner to the next level, making it one of the best dinners we have had yet. Her attitude and commitment to the American Red Cross set a gold standard for other volunteers."
